Daily Dose – Social Media Tip of the Day – When should you post?

“What is the best time of day to post to social media sites?”

The answer to this question (and to so many other questions related to social media) is – IT DEPENDS.

With that said, my informal method for posting content is:

If the content requires reading, commenting, sharing and/or detailed attention, post in the morning (between 6 AM – 8 AM).

If the content is fun, light and/or requires less reading (infographics, photos, videos, polls),  post in the early evening (between 5 PM – 7 PM).

If you are publishing a blog, Mondays and Thursdays are the best days to share it (according to HubSpot).

Neil Patel says that the absolute best time to post to Facebook is at noon on Saturday – that’s when your post will get the most shares.

Helpful hint: Try re-sharing popular content that you posted during the week.

Do you find that there are days and times that are better than others to post? What do you think about timing posts? Please share your experiences in the comments.

Hi Betty – I’ve based it on a lot of research that I’ve done and studies that I have read. HubSpot periodically does studies analyzing thousands of Facebook pages and Twitter feeds to discover when the most interaction occurs. Thanks so much for reading and commenting! ~Julia
