The nonprofit technology landscape moves so quickly, it’s hard to keep up.
Technology in the nonprofit space means more than simply posting on Facebook or getting set up with the best CRM.
When used wisely and strategically, nonprofit technology can often mean better and more efficient ways to raise money, to build relationships with your community and to accomplish your mission.
In this presentation I gave at the NonProfit PRO Leadership Conference, I walk you through the current landscape and highlight some of the most prominent trends in #NPTECH.
I detail 10 tech innovations that you can start using today that have the possibility to revolutionize the sector.
My top 10 tech innovations are:
- Facebook Spaces
- Facebook Messenger Bots
- #Donate
- $Cashtags
- Let’s All Do Good mobile app
- Patronicity
- CareMessage
- Samasource
- Near Field Communication
- Internet of Things (IOT)

Thank you! I’m glad you liked it!
Good list. I wonder how VR will make an impact over and above Facebook Spaces. What are the possibilities about helping people to ‘walk a mile’ in someone’s shoes.
Given that Google come in with VR headsets for all the kids at my daughters school to help them learn (and to get them to pester parents to buy things) I wonder how charities could do the same.

VR is already being used and I think it will have HUGE impact! See what Pencils of Promise is doing in the VR space : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SelvUz8Zr3k
That’s so crazy that Google brought VR headsets for the kids at your daughter’s school! WOW!
I wish they had left the headsets with the school, they just brought them in so all the kids wanted one and took them back again! But still WOW.
Thanks for the link – great organisation and great use of video as well as the VR.
