In the beginning of the month, Blackbaud, the Nonprofit Technology Network (NTEN) and Common Knowledge released the fourth edition of the annual 2012 Nonprofit Social Networking Benchmark Report.

This report is required reading for anyone working in or with nonprofits, as it provides insights as to how nonprofits are using social media tools and social networks in their overall fundraising and marketing/PR plans.

Check out the infographic below, and download the full report to learn more about these trends and how your nonprofit can better utilize social networking tools to achieve your goals.

Interesting findings include:

  • The cost of acquisition for Facebook Like is 71% more than a Twitter follower.
  • Despite continued growth, nonprofits are not raising large amounts of money through social networks.
  • Nonprofits continue to increase their budgets for social networking, but most (75%) allocate fewer than $10,000 per annum.
  • 43% of respondents said they allocate zero dollars to their social networking activites! (This is probably why they aren’t raising much money!)

How does your nonprofit use social networking sites? What other key findings did you discover in this report? Please add your Comments and thoughts in the section below. Thanks for reading!
