How much donor data is too much?

How much donor data is too much?

We’re all hearing the same message: Use your donor data. Embrace AI. Personalize everything.

But where’s the line between being helpful and being creepy?

That’s the question we’re exploring in the next Generosity Roundtable on July 7, and I’d love for you to join us.

This isn’t a webinar. It’s a live, interactive learning experience where we work through a real challenge from a real nonprofit.

This month’s scenario comes from Meghan Walsh of Roots Ethiopia, who leads a small, relationship-driven team. Like many nonprofits, they have more donor data than ever, spread across multiple platforms they already pay for – but very little time to determine which signals actually indicate a supporter is ready for a meaningful conversation.

She wants to use data and AI to strengthen relationships, not replace them.

Joining us is Meena Das, CEO of NamasteData.org and Founder of the AI Equity Project, who will help us with one of the biggest questions facing nonprofits today:

How can we use donor data and AI to build stronger relationships without making supporters feel like they’re being analyzed instead of truly known?

Together, we’ll roleplay the scenario over three facilitated rounds, invite your input, and explore practical approaches that you can take back to your own organization.

If you’ve ever wondered:

  • How much donor data is enough?
  • When does personalization become intrusive?
  • How can AI support authentic fundraising instead of getting in the way?

…this conversation is for you.
